CHILD LABOUR – A PERSISTENT PROBLEM

Children the gift of God. Children the source of unlimited energy and sweet innocent ness. The young children with their faces smeared , wearing dirty clothes asking for petty jobs, sometimes aimlessly roaming and bantering with each other. Aren’t they supposed to have happy smiles on their faces! Then why do we find so many kids doing work which beyond their age in tea stalls, garages, hotels, beedi factories, servants at houses etc. Why are'nt they taken care by some one why are they the neglected lot of the society?

Children are exploited by the profit seekers for want of work done @ less price!

The children in turn need a day’s square meals – his basic need. His choice to fulfill his hunger is to beg, borrow, steal or work. Here, I think mostly the traits of human goodness urges him to seek for work.

We instead of hampering child labour we are encouraging by offering jobs for the tiny hands. What could be the reason for a child who should have been in play grounds or in schools is seen polishing shoes, cleaning cars and running errands for a few rupees? Don’t you think they would also like to play without any responsibility or burden of looking after their infant sibling while their parents seek out for their livelihood?

Isn’t the privilege of a child to play boundless, laugh, giggle, have fun, merry around without any hackles? Yes !! it is their Right! Now, is never too late, to rectify our mistake. Let us begin in a small way instead of sharing your money try to share or impart your education to the child. Possible admit them in ‘Homes’ run by the social organizations and the Government. Look around you, in the bus stops, railway stations, near temples etc are the regular haunts of such children. Observe, seek them out, do not hesitate to approach they might seem very rash and insolent, remember they are uncared, unloved and neglected children. Their attitude is their shield of protection. Let us help ourselves to build a civilized and better society for future by putting our efforts jointly in production of good citizens for tomorrow.

SHARE YOUR EDUCATION - HELP A CHILD
AVOID CHILD LABOUR
If YOU avoid child labour today, it shall vanish tomorrow. Help to build a country with better civilians than criminals.

Well,  personally, I feel that these children are doing something of their life, if not this what would they be doing?Steal? like in the old bollywood movies where a boy steals medicine for his Maa or a loaf of bread for his Behen and grows up to become a 'good' thief and so he is the hero? Thats all Bakwaas!!

My Sweet Pop.

My papa calm and quiet
never utters an epithet.
He buys me an icecream,
When I fail in my exam.
He glares at me
when I am late to home.
He takes us to movies good
Even if my grades are not good.
He tucks me in bed everyday,
telling me stories of past day(s).
Thats my lovely Pop,
sweeter than Lollipop!
